Start sending out your own Surveys to your customers to get targeted feedback. 🚀
Navigate to the Surveys section on the header to access the surveys page. If you do not have an existing survey, the page will show you the different survey templates that you can start building your survey with.
The templates consist of the different survey question types (NPS, CES, CSAT, Smileys, Star) and a Blank survey.
Selecting one of the question type templates will automatically add the following:
- Value Question (of the selected type)
- Follow up Question
- Contact Info
To edit the survey title, click the pencil icon next to the title. By default, we name your initial survey "My first survey".
The Survey Composer is separated between the Survey Configuration panel and the Survey Preview.
On the left part of the page is the Survey Configuration panel, where you can edit the different parts of your survey.
And on the right is the Survey Preview that shows what your customers will see as they fill out your survey. The preview updates in real-time as you change anything on the settings panel.
Let's take a look at the different sections of your survey settings:
1 Survey Configuration
Survey topics are internal labels used to give some extra meta information regarding this survey and its purpose.
It would be a good idea to use the topics to help identify your survey's target demographics. Example: women, children, today's special
These are purely for internal usage and could be used for grouping and filtering.
Change the visuals of your survey to match your company's brand. Upload your company or brand logo to show on every page of the survey.
Note: file types accepted are PNG and JPEG. The image filesize should not exceed 2MB.
You can also change the color scheme of your surveys to make it your own. Select a fill or text color from the presets or by entering the specific color codes.
3 Welcome Page
The Welcome Page is the first page that your customers will see when they visit the Survey URL. You can change the Intro Text and the Button label.
Enabling Add Location Selector will show a dropdown list of your AreTheyHappy Locations. This can be used to group survey results for an individual location. You can also change the text shown on the dropdown list.
4 Question Customization
In this section, you can add questions to your survey from the following list:
- Net Promoter Score (NPS) - 1 to 10 rating
- Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) - 1 to 5 rating
- Customer Effort Score (CES) - 1 to 5 rating
- Star-Rating - 1 to 5 stars
- Smileys - From very disappointed to very happy
- Feedback - a free form text field where your customers will be able to expand on their answer/s to the value question/s.
- Contact Details
Note: you can only add a maximum of one (1) Contact Details question to a survey
To add a question, click the + button then select the question type you want to add to your survey.
By default, the question's type will be displayed as the name or title of that step. To change a question's name, click the down arrow to expand the question panel, click the ellipsis to show the actions menu, then click Rename.
If you have configured all of the questions on your survey but wish to change the order of the different questions, simple hover on the question panel (a move icon will appear on the upper left corner of the panel), then click and drag the panel to your desired order.
5 Thank You Page
This section allows you to type in a message to thank your customers for spending the time to give you valuable feedback about your business and services.
The last page of the survey also has a Call to Action (CTA) button. You can customize it to change the text and the link to where your customers will be redirected upon clicking it.
6 Survey Preview
As mentioned above, the survey preview shows the current configurations of your survey.
Below the preview, you have the following controls: Devices, Page name, Page Navigation controls
You can preview your survey for Standard Monitors (Desktop/Laptop), Tablets and Mobile Phones.
The name of the page you are currently previewing is always displayed. The background also works as a progress bar to show which step of the survey flow it is.
Then you can navigate to the different steps/pages by clicking the left and right navigation control arrows.
