Facebook changed its way of gathering reviews for Business Pages from the usual 1-5 stars to Recommendations.

Now, whenever your customers leave a review on your Facebook page, it will either be a user Recommending your page or a user Not Recommending your page.

Applying Filters on Facebook Recommendations

How do you apply filters on Facebook Recommendations given that they no longer use the ratings/scores system?

If you go to your AreTheyHappy Inbox and click on the Filters, you can make use of the Ratings filter:

  • 1 - 3 stars = Doesn't Recommend
  • 4 - 5 stars = Recommends

Creating Smart Folders for Facebook Recommendations

You can apply the same filters/settings above to create Smart Folders specifically for Facebook Recommendations.

If you want to create a Smart Folder to funnel negative/non-recommendations, you can use the following settings:

  • Channels: Facebook
  • Message Types: Recommendations
  • Ratings: 1 - 3 stars

Note: you can select 1, 2, or 3 stars to filter on non-recommendations.

Now, if you want to create a Smart Folder to only show Recommendations, you can use the following settings:

  • Channels: Facebook
  • Message Types: Recommendations
  • Ratings: 4 and/or 5 stars

Of course, you can use these settings and combine them with other integrations. If you want to create a Smart Folder to filter on Bad Reviews (less than 4 star rating/non-recommendation) you can use the following settings:

  • Channels: All (select none or select all)
  • Message Types: Recommendations, Reviews
  • Ratings: 1 - 3 stars
