Keeping your AreTheyHappy Inbox clean (and as close as possible to an Inbox Zero) is many teams' goal. Not only does it take the visual clutter away. It also helps the team focus on urgent items for the day.

For many AreTheyHappy partners, it's standard for the team to:

  1. Aim for Inbox Zero (and clear the inbox daily and at the very least weekly).

  2. They handle messages only once for efficiency. In other words, once you've read a message, decide whether to (1) respond to it, (2) tag it, (3) assign it to someone in the team and/or (4) complete it. At any rate, always complete a message after you're done with it.

HOWEVER, there are certain situations where your Inbox will have tens (or hundreds) of messages -- more than you know what to do with.

This is typically the case when you first start using AreTheyHappy and you connect your different social media accounts to locations. The image below, for instance, shows 2000+ messages in an inbox. πŸ˜…

While this happens incredibly rarely, there might even be times that an integration partner like Facebook or Google makes drastic changes on their API which could old messages to return to the Inbox.

Onboarding with a clean slate

At the point of onboarding, it can be overwhelming to see the sheer volume of feedback in your inbox, and some teams do choose to start with a "clean slate." They pick a particular date to start their efforts, and they bulk complete messages before said date.

How to perform a Bulk Complete

(1) Click on the Pencil icon at the top of the Inbox List

(2) Select individual messages, or tick the checkbox at the very top of the page to "select all," i.e. all messages visibly displayed on your Inbox.

Note: when you load your inbox initially, the Inbox displays 15 messages. Scrolling to the very bottom will load the next 15, so on and so forth.

(3) Click the Mark Complete button to send all of the selected messages to the Completed folder. Continue until complete.

Note: the Mark Complete button shows the number of posts you currently have selected.
